BioElectroMed was formed originally as RPN Research in 2001. The recent name change more accurately reflects the goals of this company to define bioelectrics for medical diagnostics and treatment. BioElectroMed is using the electrical properties of tissues to develop novel bioelectric approaches to detect and treat disease. Drawing from physics, biology and engineering we are developing new medical devices to detect and treat skin cancer and enhance wound healing. BioElectroMed has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health to develop bioelectric diagnostics and therapies in the fields of wound healing and skin cancer.

President: Pamela Nuccitelli
Pamela's 25 years of experience in project management inform her joint oversight and direction of BioElectroMed. Her sense of design, strengthened by experience as a licensed architect, is integral to the development of the Dermacorder™ and other projects within the company. Her animal research at BioElectroMed also contributes significantly to the development of instruments. Her research, design and project management strengthen and expand the core of BioElectroMed.

Vice President, Research and Development: Richard Nuccitelli, Ph.D.
Dr. Nuccitelli’s advanced degrees in both physics and biology and his 30 years of experience in instrumentation development for biophysical studies of animal systems make him eminently qualified to lead this team. He is the co-inventor of the vibrating probe technique that measures ionic currents in the medium outside of cells and tissues and has led the development team for the next generation of vibrating probe that can measure electric fields in air instead of fluids, the Dermacorder™.
